Canberra Politics

Many decisions made by the current ACT Government have been good, but some decisions have been very unpopular and poorly thought out.

Lately, there seems to be “token consultation” with the community on many issues. There is almost a touch of arrogance creeping in to the way the current Government approaches its citizens.

I can't support school closures, which were poorly handled, as was the closure of the Griffith library; there was a debacle over the Gungahlin Drive Extension and the Tharwa Bridge was handled no better..

And the Opposition doesn't fare any better. They haven't made any inroads as a viable alternative.

At the local government level, we need candidates who will focus on serving the needs of the community and not serving the needs of their faction.

As an independent candidate, I will be concentrating on people issues not party political concerns.
